Lubbock came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Amarillo Sandies, falling 9-1. The Westerners' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Lubbock saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Genaro Carrillo, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Lubbock's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 14-7-1. As for Amarillo, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8-1 record this season.

While Lubbock had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
