Softball Recap: Connersville Comes Up Short

Connersville lost against Yorktown back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Spartans fell 13-8 to the Tigers. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Addie Phillips and Maggie Spurlock stepped up to the plate in a big way. Phillips went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double, while Spurlock went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. Those RBI were Phillips' first of the season. Carmen Ruble was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

Connersville's loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Connersville will head out to face off against Franklin County at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Yorktown, they will challenge Elwood at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
