Baseball Recap: Knott County Central Has No Trouble Against Harlan

Knott County Central came out on top against Harlan on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Patriots put the hurt on the Green Dragons with a sharp 10-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Connor Napier was incredible, going 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Mason Amburgey was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Knott County Central and bumps their season record up to 17-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Harlan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Knott County Central will take on Perry County Central at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Commodores will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight. As for Harlan, they will square off against Williamsburg at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
