Otis and Weldon Valley are an even 4-4 against one another since September of 2016, but not for long. The Otis Bulldogs will play host again on Tuesday to welcome the Weldon Valley Warriors, where the match is scheduled at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Otis earned a 3-1 victory over Stratton.
Otis had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-17.
Otis' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lydia Willeke led the charge by getting nine digs and two aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Crysten Goble, who had nine digs, three kills, and a block.
Meanwhile, Weldon Valley posted their biggest win since September 13th on Friday. Everything went their way against Prairie as Weldon Valley made off with a 3-0 victory.
Weldon Valley was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-13, 25-19.
