Basketball Recap: Estrella Foothills Piles Up the Points Against Peoria

A well-balanced attack led Estrella Foothills over Peoria in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Estrella Foothills Wolves blew the Peoria Panthers out of the water with a 61-22 final score. The Wolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 20 matchups by 30 points or more this season.

Leading Estrella Foothills to victory were Nemo Sidhu and Eva Amenhauser. Sidhu posted 28 points and six steals, while Amenhauser dropped a double-double on 11 points and 23 rebounds. Sidhu is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Chanel Yellowman, who earned seven points in addition to eight boards and four steals.

Estrella Foothills was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Peoria only racked up four assists.

Peoria lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Cieraka Lynch, who put up six points along with 11 rebounds and three steals. Lynch is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Michelle Kogbara, who had five points and 12 boards.

Estrella Foothills' win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 25-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.4 points per game. As for Peoria, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-5 record.

Estrella Foothills didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-32 victory against Deer Valley on the 31st. As for Peoria, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 78-22 win against Cactus on the 31st.
