Basketball Game Preview: Central Falcons vs. Dora Bulldogs

The Central Falcons will take on the Dora Bulldogs at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Central is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-40, which was the final score in Central's tilt against Paul W. Bryant on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 289th, while the Stampede are ranked 37th).

Meanwhile, Dora hadn't done well against Cordova recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Dora had just enough and edged Cordova out 41-38. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since November 27, 2024.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Dora, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-13 record this season.

Central strolled past Dora when the teams last played back in December of 2018 by a score of 69-52. Will Central repeat their success, or does Dora have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
