Volleyball Recap: Granbury Pirates vs. Fossil Ridge Panthers

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Aledo, Granbury was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Fossil Ridge Panthers with a sharp 3-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Pirates also won the last time the pair played back in September.

Granbury got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-15, 30-28.

Granbury can attribute much of their success to Lilyan Mccall, who had 19 digs. Mccall is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in the last 17 games she's played dating back to last season.

Granbury's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-19. As for Fossil Ridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-23 record this season.

Granbury will square off against Saginaw at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Granbury is facing Saginaw at the right time seeing as Saginaw is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Fossil Ridge has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Chisholm Trail on the 18th.
