Recap: Verona Wildcats vs. School of the Ozarks Patriots
The Verona Wildcats suffered their biggest defeat since December 4, 2023 on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 51-30 loss at the hands of School of the Ozarks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Verona of the 60-50 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
School of the Ozarks' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Holland Houston, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. Houston has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lily Todd, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds.
Verona's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for School of the Ozarks, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Verona will challenge College Heights Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for School of the Ozarks, they will head out on the road to square off against Cabool at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cabool is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
