Football Game Preview: McKinney Christian Academy Mustangs vs. Cypress Christian Warriors

Two dominant signal callers in Cody Dow and Brayden Dawson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The McKinney Christian Academy Mustangs are taking a road trip to square off against the Cypress Christian Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with McKinney Christian Academy sitting on three straight wins and Cypress Christian on six.

On Friday, McKinney Christian Academy got the win against Shelton by a conclusive 45-24. The Mustangs pushed the score to 45-10 by the end of the third, a deficit the Chargers cut but never quite recovered from.

McKinney Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Harrison Thompson out in front who picked up 102 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 61 yards. Quentin Phillips was in the mix too, providing McKinney Christian Academy with one touchdown.

Meanwhile, Cypress Christian won against Bishop Gorman back in September with 49 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Everything went the Warriors' way against Bishop Reicher Catholic as they made off with a 49-24 win. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 25 points or more this season.

McKinney Christian Academy's record is now 5-1. As for Cypress Christian, their record now sits at 6-0.

McKinney Christian Academy took a serious blow against Cypress Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2017, falling 68-34. Thankfully for the Mustangs, Joshua Holl (who threw for 396 yards and six TDs while picking up 15.8 yards per attempt) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
