Wilmington Christian Academy will head out to  square off against Freedom Christian Academy  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. Wilmington Christian Academy has given up an average of 7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Wilmington Christian Academy managed to slip by North Raleigh Christian Academy the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Wilmington Christian Academy came up short against  North Raleigh Christian Academy on Friday, falling  12-4.
Meanwhile,  after only one  run in their last  contest, Freedom Christian Academy made sure to put some  runs up on the board against The O'Neal School  on Friday. Freedom Christian Academy was the clear victors by  a  17-1 margin over The O'Neal School. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won five matches by seven  runs or more  so far this season.
 Andrew Corney and  Eli Corney made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound,  Corney   struck out six batters over  two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit (and only one walk). Meanwhile,  Eli   struck out six batters over  three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. That's the fewest  hits  he has allowed since back in April of 2024. At bat,  Corney  scored a  run while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances, while  Eli  scored three  runs and  stole  Three bases. while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances. What's more,  Andrew posted three  RBI, the most he's  had since back in April of 2024.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Graysen Stafford, who  went 1-for-3 with one  home run, three  runs,  and three  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Alonzo Webster, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-3.
 Freedom Christian Academy was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .524. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as The O'Neal School only posted a  batting average of  .059.
 Freedom Christian Academy is  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record  this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.4 runs. Wilmington Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
 Wilmington Christian Academy couldn't quite get it done against Freedom Christian Academy when the teams last played  back in March of 2024 as they fell  7-3. Can Wilmington Christian Academy avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
