Basketball Recap: Garrett Takes a Loss

Garrett lost against Westview back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Garrett Railroaders took a blow against the Westview Warriors, falling 73-38. The match marked the Railroaders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Garrett saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Isaiah King went 7 for 17 en route to 17 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kohen Smith, who posted four points and five rebounds.

With the loss, Garrett broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-3. As for Westview, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garrett will take on Westview at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th. As for Westview, they will square off against Leo at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Leo has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 181 points over their last three games.
