            Baseball Recap: Eastbrook Panthers vs. South Adams Starfires        
        
		
        
        
            While Eastbrook's  win against South Adams wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  5-3  victory over the Starfires  on Thursday. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Starfires, too.

 Austin Mikel was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. He also  tossed  no  earned runs, which is notable because Eastbrook is undefeated when he allows at  most  one  earned run, but 9-10 otherwise. Mikel was also solid in the batter's box,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with two  stolen bases and two  runs.
 In other batting news,  Malakai Luthy was  excellent,  getting on base  in two of his four plate appearances with three  stolen bases and two  runs. That's the most  stolen bases  he has posted  over his last 11  matches.  Blake Jacobs was another key player,  going 1-for-4 with one  stolen base and two  RBI.
Eastbrook pushed their record up to 15-10 with the  win, which was their third straight  on the road. The  road  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for South Adams,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 5-18.
 When Eastbrook and South Adams next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Panthers will  challenge  University and their three-game winning streak  at 10:30  a.m.  on Saturday. Meanwhile, South Adams will try to stop Northeastern's three-game winning streak when they meet  at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday.
