Basketball Game Preview: East Peoria Raiders vs. Metamora Redbirds

East Peoria is 0-10 against Metamora since February of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The East Peoria Raiders will be playing at home against the Metamora Redbirds at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Metamora will be up against a hot East Peoria team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. East Peoria walked away with a 59-49 win over Normal West on Tuesday. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Wildcats are ranked 357th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Metamora got the win against Limestone on Saturday by a conclusive 72-51. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Redbirds.

East Peoria pushed their record up to 20-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points over those games. As for Metamora, their win bumped their record up to 23-6.
