Basketball Game Preview: Madison County Cowboys vs. Godby Cougars

The Madison County Cowboys will challenge the Godby Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Madison County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Madison County is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Suwannee: they outscored them in every quarter. Madison County blew past Suwannee 72-48 on Saturday. The Cowboys pushed the score to 56-34 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bulldogs had little chance of recovering from.

Meanwhile, Godby unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Ribault 58-53.

Madison County will have to contain Kenijah Clayton as she made an impact in Godby's last game. She went 9 of 14 on her way to 27 points. The match was Clayton's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Cornelius, who posted six points in addition to 12 rebounds and seven steals.

Even though they lost, Godby smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive boards in eight consecutive games.

Madison County now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Godby, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.
