Soccer Game Preview: Walnut Grove vs. Reedy

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Walnut Grove challenge Reedy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Walnut Grove is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

Walnut Grove is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They never let Mt. Pleasant get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. The result was nothing new for Walnut Grove, who have now won 11 games by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Reedy beat Lebanon Trail 2-0 on Friday.

Layla Gonzales and Naia Rentschler scored both of Reedy's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Reedy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-7-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those five matchups. Walnut Grove's win bumped their record up to 19-1-1.

Walnut Grove took their victory against Reedy when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Walnut Grove since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
