Baseball Game Preview: Kennard Tigers vs. Centerville Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Kennard will face off against Centerville. The Tigers will face off against the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Kennard has given up an average of 11.5 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Kennard is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 19 runs last Tuesday, they were much more limited against Centerville on Tuesday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 20-1.

For Centerville's part, Kolt Larsen was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave Larsen a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Hardy Brown was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game. Another player making a difference was Jake Slaten, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

The win was the sixth in a row for Centerville, bringing their record up to 15-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Kennard, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15-1.
