Preview: Bishop Manogue Miners vs. Reed Raiders
Bishop Manogue is 9-1 against Reed since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Bishop Manogue Miners will head out on the road to take on the Reed Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Bishop Manogue is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, Bishop Manogue beat Carson 52-43.
Bishop Manogue's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but James Williams led the charge by scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Debruin, who scored eight points along with three steals and two blocks.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Reed's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. Their tough 65-42 loss to Spanish Springs might stick with them for a while. Reed has not had much luck with Spanish Springs recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Bishop Manogue's victory bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Reed, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.
Bishop Manogue was able to grind out a solid victory over Reed in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, winning 60-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bishop Manogue since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
