            Basketball Recap: Weeki Wachee Hornets vs. Pasco Pirates        
        
		
        
        
            Weeki Wachee was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight  loss. They were three  points away from ending the streak, but they lost a  75-72 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pasco Pirates. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game  last Tuesday (57), the Hornets still had to take the loss.
 Weeki Wachee's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Jayden Parent, who  posted 20  points. Another player making a difference was  Logan Beams, who  had 19 points.
 It was another big night for  TJ Gebru, who  went 9 of 13  en route to 26  points in addition to seven  boards and five  assists for Pasco. Gebru continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's  played.  Jeremiah Miller was another key player,  going 7 for 11  on his way to 16 points and eight  assists.
Weeki Wachee's loss dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Pasco, the  win was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-9.
 Weeki Wachee has already played their next matchup,  a  72-71  victory against Citrus on the 24th. As for Pasco, they also  wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  contest,  a  68-50  win against Hudson on the 28th.
