Basketball Recap: Temple Christian Academy Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Temple Christian Academy and Christ's Church Academy squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Temple Christian Academy had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Christ's Church Academy Eagles and fell 68-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Temple Christian Academy has suffered since December 16, 2024.

Temple Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Maximus Smith, who posted ten points and six rebounds. Landon Devine was another key player, putting up ten points.

Christ's Church Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jackson Olson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 25 points and 12 boards. The dominant performance gave OlsOn a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Simms, who almost dropped a triple-double on 13 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists.

Temple Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Christ's Church Academy, they pushed their record up to 17-3 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home.

Temple Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Christ's Church Academy, they will be playing at home against St. Johns Country Day at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Christ's Church Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully St. Johns Country Day likes a good challenge.
