Basketball Recap: Keiarra Martin's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Whitehorse over Wayne

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Whitehorse couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 47-36 to the Wayne Badgers on Thursday. The Raiders have struggled against the Badgers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Keiarra Martin, who posted ten points. What's more, Martin also posted a 24% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Heidi Clark, who scored 11 points.

Wayne's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Raegyn Blackburn, who went 5-for-12 on her way to 18 points. Thanks to that strong game, Blackburn now owns an excellent 41.4% three-point shooting accuracy. Makayla Jones was another key player, putting up eight points along with 14 boards and four steals.

Whitehorse's loss dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Wayne, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Whitehorse has already played their next game, a 47-36 victory against Monument Valley on the 28th. As for Wayne, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 53-46 defeat against Rich on the 28th.
