Basketball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends Fort Worth Country Day's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Fort Worth Country Day unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 62-55 to the Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 284th, while the Warriors are ranked 66th).

Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Toby Pike led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Pike has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Toby Thomes, who went 11 of 19 en route to 22 points.

Fort Worth Country Day's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Southwest Christian School the next time they take the court. Fort Worth Country Day will host Southwest Christian School at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
