Football Recap: Largo Takes a Loss

Largo lost against Tarpon Springs back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Largo Packers fell 13-6 to the Tarpon Springs Spongers.

Olivia Kabakov threw for 120 yards on eight of 13 attempts. Katie Carro was her top target, picking up 70 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Largo has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. The victory made it two in a row for Tarpon Springs and bumps their season record up to 4-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Largo and Clearwater will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 7:30 p.m. on March 25th. Largo is facing Clearwater at the right time seeing as Clearwater is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Tarpon Springs will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Palm Harbor University at 7:30 p.m. on March 25th. Tarpon Springs hasn't scored more than 13 points for eight games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.
