Softball Recap: Benicia Takes Down Fortuna in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Benicia rose to the challenge on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Fortuna Huskies an 11-0 shutout. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Leilani Andrews was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Rojas, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Benicia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

Benicia's win bumped their record up to 15-10. As for Fortuna, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 22-4 record.

As of now, neither Benicia nor the Huskies have any future games scheduled.
