Basketball Recap: Wichita County Comes Up Short

Wichita County lost against Dighton back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wichita County Indians were dealt a 70-38 loss at the hands of the Dighton Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Hornets are ranked 93rd).

It was another big night for Daniel Cramer, who went 11 for 17 to rack up 30 points and six steals for Dighton. Cramer has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last five times he's played. Noah Roemer was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards.

Wichita County's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Dighton, the win was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.

Looking ahead, Wichita County will venture away from home to take on Stanton County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Stanton County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.9 points per game this season. As for Dighton, they will be playing at home against Brewster on Tuesday.
