Football Recap: Jet Thomas Leads Sherwood's Defense on Friday

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Sherwood had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against Crest Ridge/Chilhowee by a score of 36-28. The Marksmen didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.

Ab Chaikin produced another solid performance picking up 135 receiving yards and a pair of scores, while also rushing for 45 yards and one touchdown. Those 135 receiving yards gave him a new career-high.

Sherwood's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Jet Thomas with two sacks. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with eight.

Sherwood's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Crest Ridge/Chilhowee, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Sherwood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 53-6 loss against Windsor on the 7th. Crest Ridge/Chilhowee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
