Even though the El Cajon Valley Braves scored an imposing 58 points on Tuesday, the El Capitan Vaqueros still came out on top. El Capitan enjoyed a cozy 74-58 win over El Cajon Valley. That's another feather in the cap for El Capitan, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

El Capitan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chance LaChappa led the charge by scoring 20 points along with six assists and five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which LaChappa has scored at least 25% of El Capitan's points. Another player making a difference was Jason Wilson, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds.

El Capitan's win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for El Cajon Valley, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-8.

El Capitan has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Santana at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Santana is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for El Cajon Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Grossmont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Grossmont is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
