Volleyball Recap: Bella Tidwell and Addison Phy Secure Win for Upperman

Upperman won the last time they faced Livingston Academy and things went their way on Monday too. The Bees blew past the Wildcats 3-0. The game was the first time the Bees have beaten the Wildcats on their court since August 24, 2024.

The final score came out to 25-10, 25-14, 25-18.

Upperman was led to victory by Addison Phy and Bella Tidwell. Phy had six digs and three aces, while Tidwell hit 68.2% for 16 kills and three aces and two blocks. Those six digs gave Phy a new career-high. Maddison Ellis also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Upperman was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive matchups.

Upperman's victory bumped their record up to 20-8. As for Livingston Academy, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Upperman will face off against rival Cumberland County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Livingston Academy is set to take on their familiar foe DeKalb County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
