Softball Recap: Summer Creek Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Summer Creek and Clear Springs squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Summer Creek had to settle for second. They lost 12-5 to the Chargers. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Chargers: they've now lost four in a row.

Layla Balderas made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. Another player making a difference was Bella Melchor, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Summer Creek's loss dropped their record down to 25-6. As for Clear Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Summer Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Clear Springs, they will welcome Dobie at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Chargers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Longhorns have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
