Basketball Game Preview: Pasadena Memorial Mavericks vs. Manvel Mavericks

Pasadena Memorial is 0-5 against Manvel since January of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Pasadena Memorial Mavericks will square off against the Manvel Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Manvel is hoping to do what Alvin couldn't on Friday: put an end to Pasadena Memorial's winning streak, which now stands at four games. Pasadena Memorial put the hurt on Alvin with a sharp 75-50 victory. Given the Mavericks' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 304th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 666th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Manvel). They claimed a resounding 100-50 win over Dobie. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Manvel pushed their record up to 12-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for Pasadena Memorial, their victory bumped their record up to 14-11.

Pasadena Memorial came up short against Manvel when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 49-39. Can Pasadena Memorial avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
