Baseball Game Preview: Tulia Hornets vs. Sunray Bobcats

The Tulia Hornets will be taking part in a tournament against the Sunray Bobcats at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Tulia saw some tournament action on Friday. They walked away with a 13-10 win over Muleshoe. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Mules recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

David Molina was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Trevino, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Sunray, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They came out on top against River Road by a score of 5-2 on Friday.

Tulia's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Sunray, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
