Football Game Preview: Christoval Cougars vs. Reagan County Owls

The Christoval Cougars will take on the Reagan County Owls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Reagan County took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Christoval, who comes in off a win.

Christoval is returning home triumphant after the team finally put their road woes behind them against Colorado on Friday. The Cougars came out on top against the Wolves by a score of 15-6.

Christoval's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Another thorn in Colorado's side was Colt Floyd, who picked up a sack and made ten total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Reagan County played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 94-16 defeat at the hands of Ozona. The Owls were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 58-8.

The win got Christoval back to even at 3-3. As for Reagan County, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Christoval might still be hurting after the 36-16 defeat they got from Reagan County when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Cougars, Jarrett Brown (who rushed for 156 yards and two scores on only 12 carries, and also threw for 178 yards and three TDs) won't be suiting up this time.
