Triton had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 2-5 to make it four. They came up short against the Whitko Wildcats, falling 15-7. If the Trojans were looking for revenge after losing 17-0 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Kaitlyn Frick made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jada Bules, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.
As for Whitko, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-5. 15 seems to be a good number for them as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
On Whitko's side, Reagan Klepinger was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. Klepinger has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sophie Keener, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2025. Meredith Hindbaugh was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, three doubles, and one RBI.
Looking ahead, Triton will host Pioneer at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Whitko, they are taking a road trip to square off against Northwestern at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
