Football Recap: Pontotoc Warriors vs. New Albany Bulldogs
Pontotoc's last matchup with New Albany could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Friday. The Warriors lost 45-22 to the Bulldogs. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Even if they lost, Pontotoc's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.
Kylen Knox was his usual excellent self, rushing for 180 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.0 yards per carry, and also picking up 61 receiving yards for New Albany.all of that, receiving production came thanks to one massive catch Braden Shettles was another key player, throwing for 181 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 passes.
Having lost for the first time this season, Pontotoc fell to 3-1. As for New Albany, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.
Coming up, Pontotoc will host Shannon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for New Albany, they are taking a road trip to take on North Pontotoc at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Vikings have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
