Central Wise is 8-2 against Gate City since February of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Central Wise Warriors will take on the Gate City Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Central Wise is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lebanon 88-21. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 games by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Gate City had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 51-33 win over the Bearcats. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Bearcats are ranked 214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gate City's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points over those games. As for Central Wise, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season.

Central Wise was able to grind out a solid win over Gate City in their previous meeting back in January, winning 54-43. Does Central Wise have another victory up their sleeve, or will Gate City turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
