Basketball Recap: Carver Panthers vs. Therrell Panthers
Carver was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 79-58 to the Therrell Panthers. Carver was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Therrell apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2021.
Therrell found their leader in sophomore Morion Mcwhorter, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. What's more, Mcwhorter also racked up three assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Torey Baisden was another key player, going 6 for 11 en route to 14 points plus five steals.
Carver's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Therrell, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Carver wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 67-42 loss against South Atlanta on the 7th. Therrell has also already played their next match, a 74-72 win against Adairsville on the 7th.
