Volleyball Recap: Flowing Wells Takes a Loss

Flowing Wells was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the Tucson High Magnet School Badgers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Caballeros of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Flowing Wells was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-19.

Daniel Coronado paced Flowing Wells' offense, picking up seven kills. Coronado got some help from Chris Anaya-Ashe and his 13 assists. Finally, Akpe Apedjinou kept Flowing Wells' defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Flowing Wells' loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Tucson High Magnet School, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-3.

Flowing Wells wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against St. Augustine Catholic on the 7th. As for Tucson High Magnet School, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy on the 7th.
