Baseball Game Preview: Westchester Country Day Wildcats vs. High Point Christian Academy Cougars

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Westchester Country Day Wildcats challenge High Point Christian Academy Cougars at 6:00 p.m. The match will give Westchester Country Day their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.

Westchester Country Day is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Saturday. They came up short against Southside Christian, falling 13-1.

Westchester Country Day saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jesse Covington, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Lucas Connor also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, High Point Christian Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Bishops a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Cougars have won four games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

High Point Christian Academy pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Westchester Country Day, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Westchester Country Day might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from High Point Christian Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024.
