Basketball Recap: Klawock Skates Past Angoon with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Klawock's strategy against Angoon on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Klawock Chieftains blew the Angoon Eagles out of the water with a 48-12 final score. The match marked the Chieftains' most dominant victory of the season.

Klawock was led to victory by Lea Armour and Keira Sanderson. Armour posted 18 points and five assists, while Sanderson earned 13 points and seven steals. Those seven steals gave Sanderson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaiya Marvin, who had eight points and six boards.

Klawock has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.9 points over those games. Angoon is on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Klawock has already played their next contest, a 20-15 win against Hydaburg on the 20th. As for Angoon, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 48-19 loss against Hoonah on the 20th.
