Softball Recap: Whitney Takes a Loss

Whitney lost against Oxford Academy back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 7-6. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chiugo Anyama made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Whitney now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Oxford Academy, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3.

Looking ahead, Whitney will square off against Bolsa Grande at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. The Matadors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.45 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Oxford Academy, they will face off against Artesia at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pioneers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.29 runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of.
