Preview: Dominion Christian Knights vs. Holy Spirit Prep Cougars
The Dominion Christian Knights will head out on the road to take on the Holy Spirit Prep Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dominion Christian is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last ten games.
Last Tuesday, Dominion Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Atlanta Girls' School, taking the game 38-28.
Dominion Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Emory Maiyer out in front who scored 14 points along with four steals. Maiyer is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sophia Jackson, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Holy Spirit Prep lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Friday was a bit more commanding. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 60-36 walloping at the hands of Atlanta Girls' School. While losing is never fun, Holy Spirit Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 480th, while Atlanta Girls' School is ranked 235th).
Dominion Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for Holy Spirit Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-12.
Everything went Dominion Christian's way against Holy Spirit Prep in their previous meeting back in January as Dominion Christian made off with a 53-32 victory. With Dominion Christian ahead 37-13 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
