Meanwhile, Monterey entered their contest against Everett Alvarez on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Dores took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. While losing is never fun, Monterey can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 192nd, while Everett Alvarez are ranked fourth).

The victory got Alisal back to even at 8-8-1. As for Monterey, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5-3.
