Maynard and Clinton are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Tigers will host the Gaels at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Clinton will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Maynard extended their winning streak to eight on Wednesday. Everything went the Tigers' way against Blackstone-Millville as they made off with a 7-1 win.

Will Molloy made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Molloy was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
In other pitching news, Maynard got a great performance from Will Buchholz as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Buchholz has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.
Back at the plate, Liam Lawton and Alex Derobert did most of the damage at the plate: Lawton went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Derobert got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Derobert is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kyle Letsky, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Maynard kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Clinton hadn't done well against Hudson recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Gaels blew past the Hawks 12-2. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Gaels considering their two-run performance the matchup before.
Brian Silvester made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Silvester was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Liam Nelligan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Caleb Coyne was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Maynard pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 9.0 runs this season. As for Clinton, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Maynard has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Clinton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Maynard might still be hurting after the 8-1 defeat they got from Clinton when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Tigers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
