Basketball Game Preview: East Side Community vs. Wadleigh Harlem Hellfighters

East Side Community will venture away from home to face off against the Wadleigh Harlem Hellfighters at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. East Side Community will be strutting in after a victory while Wadleigh will be coming in after a defeat.

East Side Community is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They strolled past University Neighborhood with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 52-33.

Meanwhile, Wadleigh had to suffer through a 57-4 loss at the hands of School of the Future. While losing is never fun, the Harlem Hellfighters can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 294th, while School of the Future are ranked 36th).

East Side Community has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points per game. As for Wadleigh, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-4.

Everything came up roses for East Side Community against Wadleigh in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 65-15 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Side Community since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
