Baseball Game Preview: Ann Sobrato Bulldogs vs. Hill Falcons

The Ann Sobrato Bulldogs will head out to challenge the Hill Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ann Sobrato's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Hill's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Ann Sobrato proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Monte Vista Christian 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since April 30, 2024.

Hunter Rubbo was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Adam Alciatti also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Meanwhile, Hill fell victim to Ann Sobrato and their airtight pitching crew. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 10-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Falcons were not able to get on the board.

The victory was the third in a row for Ann Sobrato, bringing their record for this year to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Ann Sobrato took their win against Hill in their previous meeting on Tuesday by a conclusive 10-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ann Sobrato since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
