Football Game Preview: Unity Christian/Mt. Pulaski Lions vs. Oblong Panthers

The Unity Christian/Mt. Pulaski Lions will head out on the road to take on the Oblong Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Unity Christian/Mt. Pulaski has given up an average of 29.2 points per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Unity Christian/Mt. Pulaski is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Pawnee/Lincolnwood last Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Lions were dealt a 41-8 defeat at the hands of Pawnee/Lincolnwood. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Oblong, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They blew past Dugger Union, posting a 50-20 win. The Panthers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Unity Christian/Mt. Pulaski's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Oblong, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Things could have been worse for Unity Christian/Mt. Pulaski, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 30-14 loss to Oblong in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
