Northwest Suburban league recap: 5/7/12

This could be a critical week for Maple Grove, which holds a -2.50-game lead over Andover for the league's top spot in the standings.

The Huskies (14-3, 13-2) have won 13 games in a row, Northwest Suburban's longest active win streak. The streak was extended by another 9 games over the past week, includinga 7-4 win over Osseo.

Park Center's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing seven hits and zero walks to lead the league in both categories. The Pirates's pitchers have been charged with only 79 hits and have struck out 42 batters. Mark Lundholm is tops on the staff with 19 Ks.
