Basketball Recap: San Tan Foothills Triumphs

There's no place like home for San Tan Foothills, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They slipped by the Bourgade Catholic Golden Eagles 39-38 on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Sabercats as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

San Tan Foothills was led to victory by Ashleigh Hanson and Cienna Witcher. Hanson posted 15 points and eight rebounds, while Witcher had 12 points in addition to seven steals and six boards. Those 15 points gave Hanson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ariza Cabaiz, who scored four points.

San Tan Foothills' win bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Bourgade Catholic, they dropped their record down to 3-17 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

San Tan Foothills will be playing at home against Northwest Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bourgade Catholic, they are taking a road trip to challenge Benjamin Franklin at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
