Basketball Game Preview: Herriman Mustangs vs. Copper Hills Grizzlies

The Herriman Mustangs will head out to square off against the Copper Hills Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Herriman has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 30.

Herriman lost 70-48 to Corner Canyon on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Copper Hills faced Bingham in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. Copper Hills walked away with a 56-46 victory over Bingham. The win continues a trend for the Grizzlies in their matchups with the Miners: they've now won six in a row.

Herriman better keep an eye on Skylie Barker. She was instrumental in Copper Hills' win, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. What's more, Barker also racked up seven assists, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Ayla Marston was another key player, putting up 12 points along with six assists and five boards.

Copper Hills smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Herriman's defeat dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Copper Hills, their record is now 16-5.

Herriman took a serious blow against Copper Hills when the teams last played back in January, falling 58-14. Can Herriman avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
