Baseball Recap: Bald Eagle Area Takes a Loss

Bald Eagle Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Marauders earlier this season, when they won 14-4.

Wyatt Kowalczyk was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits.

On the hitting side, Connor Perry was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Cessna, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Bald Eagle Area's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Bishop Guilfoyle, their win bumped their record up to 4-11.

Looking ahead, Bald Eagle Area will welcome Tyrone at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Bishop Guilfoyle, they will head out to challenge Penn Cambria at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Marauders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
