Volleyball Game Preview: Commerce Tigers vs. Mineola Yellowjackets

The Commerce Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Mineola Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Friday, Commerce didn't have quite enough to beat Eustace and fell 3-2. The loss put an end to the Tigers' undefeated start to the season.

Commerce actually scored more points across those five sets (100-97), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-20, 18-25, 14-25, 15-11.

Meanwhile, Mineola came up short against Sunnyvale on Saturday and fell 2-0.

Mineola was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-18.

Mineola now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Commerce, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Commerce suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Mineola in their previous meeting back in August of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
